Alan Stanford good guy or profiteer?

Just reading on cricinfo this afternoon about Alan Stanford the billionaire who bankrolls West Indies cricket. He has said profits from the Twenty20 match will go to the West Indies Cricket Board, he has not recovered his layout. Is he a true cricket beleiver or a savvy businessman?

The chant I learned at the MCG about 2 years ago from Bay 13 went "We like Brad Hodge 'coz he's a Victorian". But now he's an Indian playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. I hope he goes well like Ponting didn't. It's time to get ready for the West Indies tour. :roll:
